Dear Sir:

Re: Your Duncan property (Lot 4 in Block 5 of Section
18, Range 6, Quamichan District, Plan 7981)

We are in receipt of your letters (2) of the 18th ultimo with regard to your Real and Personal property.

Your protest is noted. While we appreciate that the sale of any property is a matter of personal concern to, and in some cases may be contrary to the wishes of, the owner, we believe we have taken every possible step to secure prices that adequately represent current values and we feel satisfied that this is the case with the above property. As soon as final adjustments are made a complete statement of the transaction will be sent you, showing the net proceeds passed to the credit of your account.

The policy of liquidation was decided on by the Government authorities at Ottawa, as you are doubtless aware, and in the case of all properties outside of the group of farms taken over by the Director, Veterans' Land Act, for the use of returned soldiers, we have endeavoured to treat every sale on its individual merits.

With regard to the sale of Chattels, we enclose a statement giving full particulars of those sold by auction and showing the net proceeds passed to the credit of your account, of which we also enclose a statement, showing a balance of $306.30 standing at your credit at the present time.

Yours truly,

R G Bell,
Administration Department.
