Dear Sir:
I am in receipt of your letter of August 1, in which you state that you have sold the radio sets. I had been given the impression that the R.C.M.P.[Royal Canadian Mounted Police] were to look after our radios till the war was over. But this is not the impression I hold now. Taking Canadian people's property and selling it without their consent is against the doctrines of Democracy isn't it. We are not Japanese Nationals.
The radio that you sold for the measly sum of one hundred and eight dollars and seventy six cents ($108.76) are worth as follows:
Table battery set, Model #826, Series #175266 |
$135.00 |
Console Sparton radio, Model #10141, Series #101410418 |
$340.00 |
The total worth is Four hundred and seventy five dollars. The Sparton radio was just new as we bought it in 1941. The battery set just before the Sparton radio. Why do you not state the price of each radio as it was sold? You sold the radios without even consulting me. Do you think that is democratic. Selling Canadian people's goods is illegal, isn't it?
I would like you to buy back our radios and send it to us or send us a cheque for the real value of the radios.
Thank you for your immediate attention.
Yours very truly,

P.S. I would like to know what is credited to my so called account. The total amount if you please.
