Dear Sirs:

You have informed me on the ninth of February regarding my radio which was in the hands of the Custodian. You have written that my radio cannot be located and that you fear it has been stolen.

I would like you to understand that it is my contention that you repay for the stolen radio. I did not ask you to take precautions to protect my radio. It was against my will but the Naval officers took it away on the eleventh of February, 1942.

I know that I am not the only person who's goods is missing. I am sending in this complaint for I think the Custodian should have taken more responsibilities as a protector.

As you may know my radio was a prewar model. In fact I bought it the year before the war. I hope you will give my request fullest consideration and repay for the radio.

Yours truly

Hisajiro SHIKATANI"
