Mr. Masao KAWAMOTO,
Registration #10851,
Okanagan Centre, B.C.

Dear Sir:

We are in receipt of your letter of the 7th instant.

On reference to your file we notice that on June 19th you requested payment of the funds standing to your credit, at which time the sum of $200.00 was sent to you.

There would appear to be no point in returning this sum as it is the policy of the Custodian to remit funds standing to the credit of any Japanese entitled to receive same.

Your reference to a claim for loss caused by evacuation is a matter in regard to which this office is unable to advise as the evacuation of persons of the Japanese race from the protected area was carried out under the authority of Orders-in-Council of the Government of Canada.

Yours truly,

F. G. Shears,
Director
