Dear Sir:

Re: Sale of Property.

We have to acknowledge receipt of your letter of the 25th ultimo regarding the sale of your Prince Rupert property.

The policy of liquidation is, as you are aware, that of the Dominion Government. It is appreciated that the sale of any property is a matter of personal concern and may in some cases be contrary to the wishes of the owner but we believe every possible step has been taken to secure fair and adequate prices.

Your protest is noted and will be kept on file. Your reference to proceeds of sale is not quite clear to us. The net proceeds from sales of Real Property are available to owners. In the case of residents in the B. C. Security Commission Interior Housing Areas the Commission is, by mutual agreement, consulted before funds are paid out, but this formality is not necessary in the case of self-supporting non-residents and their families. As a resident of a Housing Area you come within this former category although part of your family may have moved to Eastern Canada.

We shall be glad to explain any further point that may not be clear to you, or you may consult the B. C. Security Commission's Supervisor or Welfare Officer of your district.

Yours truly,

R. G. Bell,
Administration Department.
