Dear Sir:-

On the occasion of my trip to Vancouver early this month, I was able to have fifty-six boxes of library books sent to my present home in Lacombe, Alberta.

Aside from these Japanese library books, there were five hundred and forty-four (544) books belonging to me which I reported and left in the care of the Custodian at the time of my departure from Vancouver in June of 1942. When I made a trip to Vancouver in June, 1944 however, I brought back with me about fifty of the books.

One of the purposes of my recent return to Vancouver was to recover the remainder of my books. But I found that every book was missing. Among the collection were many fine books which are irreplaceable at the present time, and it is with a deep feeling of disappointment and regret that I make this report.

Yours very truly,
