Dear Sir:

We are in receipt of your letter of the 19th instant and in reply to the second paragraph thereof would advise that the remittance asked for went forward with our letter of the 17th instant.

With regard to the sale of your Duncan property, the policy of liquidation was, as you are aware, decided upon by the Government authorities at Ottawa, and while we appreciate that the sale of any property is a matter of personal concern, and in some cases may be contrary to the wishes of the owner, we believe that we have taken every possible step to secure fair and adequate prices. The price obtained for Cat. No. 582 (Lot 5 in Block 4 of Sec. 18, Range 6, Quamichan District, Plan 798), is $500.00, which is the same as the value placed on it by a qualified independent appraiser, and we are satisfied fully represents the present value of the property.

Certain charges, incidental to all sales of Real Property, will have to be deducted from the gross price but as soon as final adjustments are made we will send you a complete statement of the transaction, showing the net proceeds placed to the credit of your account.

Yours truly,

R. G. Bell,
Administration Department.
