Mr. F. Matheson,
c/o [care of] The Custodian,
Vancouver, B.C.

Dear Sirs:

I have received your letter and cheque other day, but I had my finger injured and could not write till today.

I regret to say that I have to send this cheque beck to you, because I cannot accept without any statement for this.

In fact, I have been living in Vancouver for many years with family as the manager of Taiyo Printing Co. Ltd. and when I left there by the R.C.M.P.'s [Royal Canadian Mounted Police] order they gave me only twenty-four hours to leave. When my family left there they could carry only 150 lbs. stuff. So, most of my personal property left in Vancouver.

I am sure that you have the list of my personal property which I sent it to you.

The amount of cheque is kind of so small and I cannot understand how my things are treated. I wish you will find out full detail for this.

Yours truly,

S. MAYEBA
