COMPLAINT LETTER

File No. 13991

Moose Jaw Hostel,
Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan,
April 1, 1947.

Dept. of the Sec. of State,
Office of the Custodian,
Vancouver, B.C.

Attention Mr. F. Matheson

Gentleman:

This is to acknowledge with thanks your letter of February 5, 1947, and of March 19, 1947.

According to the R.C.M.P. [Royal Canadian Mounted Police] officials, I understood that the Sparton Console radio and one 6-20 Brownie camera which they upheld from us during the war were to be returned after the hostilities. It is almost two years now since hostilities have ceased and I am informed that the above radio is sold by your office.

The above radio, which the original value was $180.00 was sold at a very low value. Sir, why is this? I would also like to mention the fact that the said radio was sold without the owner's consent.

I am very doubtful in regards to the action the office of the Custodian has taken, and would like an explanation as to the above matter at your earliest convenience.

Yours very truly,

"Kameichi YAMANE,
Reg. No. 00580"
